Sharjah 24: Colonel Abdullah Al Ghazal, Acting Director of the Sharjah Punitive and Correctional Institution, honoured the inmates who secured first places at the state level in the 22nd Ras Al Khaimah Holy Quran Award, in cooperation with the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, Wednesday morning.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Major Khalfan Salem Al Alili, Director of the Qualification and Training Branch, along with several of the institution’s officers and staff. Delegations of memorisers and contributors to the Quranic competition were also present.
During the honouring, Colonel Abdullah Al Ghazal commended the efforts of the Punitive and Correctional Institution and the participating inmates, for obtaining first place among the rest of the correctional institutions in the country for the Ras Al Khaimah Award Holy Quran, and he extended his sincere thanks to the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment for its unlimited support in memorising inmates and training them for religious competitions.
He added that the partners have a major role to play in making the Sharjah Punitive and Correctional Institution rank first this year, through selecting targeted awareness programmes for inmates, encouraging them to learn and memorise the Noble Book, and becoming familiar with the Noble Prophet’s Sunnah.
The honourees expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Police General Command for harnessing all capabilities in organising religious programmes and encouraging the distinguished among them for their memorisation of the Holy Quran.
