His Excellency Brigadier General Ahmed Abdelaziz Shuhail, Director of the Punishment and Correctional Establishment at the Sharjah Police affirmed the Establishment’s keenness to celebrate the Inmates' International Day, in line with SP’s initiatives to highlight the importance of detainees' rights and raise awareness about their issues, reflecting the Establishment’s significant efforts in continuously working to provide a supportive and rehabilitative environment for the inmates.

The event commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Quran, after which a film was displayed shedding light on the Punitive and Correctional Establishment’s efforts and achievements in enhancing the quality of life for the inmates.

The event also included a number of brainstorming sessions, in which the attendees participated with partners from different organisations and institutions. The sessions included four main themes.
