Sharjah Police receives delegation from General Department of PCE

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Punitive and Correctional Establishment, received a delegation from the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, and from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at United Arab Emirates University, headed by Major Hashem Al Hashemi from the Punitive and Correctional Establishment, and Dr. Ahmed Al Morshedy, Assistant Professor at the United Arab Emirates University, received by Colonel Mona Sorour, Acting Director of the Punitive and Correctional Department in the presence of a number of competent officials from both parties.
The visit comes within the project of developing rehabilitation and reform programmes for inmates of penal and correctional institutions, organised by the Emirates Red Crescent.

During the visit, the delegation listened to a full explanation of the rehabilitation programmes and practices offered by the Punitive and Correctional Establishment to inmates.

Colonel Mona Sorour said that Sharjah Police General Command is working under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, within a coherent and integrated work system, with other agencies, to achieve a high quality of life. 

Colonel Mona Sorour added that work is implemented in coordination and cooperation with partners and other bodies, to adopt initiatives that contribute to achieving the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior aimed at improving the quality of life in the community, and thus enhancing inmates quality of life, reintegration and return to the community as productive individuals.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Punitive and Correctional Establishment presented a commemorative shield to the visiting delegation, which expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the institution and its important role in developing various pioneering programmes that enhance the quality of life for the institution's inmates.
