Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD) revealed its work statistics during the first quarter of 2024, continuing its role in serving the community through suburbs councils at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The department reviewed its most prominent work and what it achieved as part of continuing its roles in achieving the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
SDAD emphasised its vital role in achieving the goals as a link between the government and society to achieve sustainable development and the roles it undertakes in terms of preserving the government’s gains and achievements, forming positive relationships between members of society, and encouraging their efforts and self-initiatives to participate in developing the suburbs.
The councils' initiatives varied, reaching 70 initiatives, ranging from social, cultural, sports, and religious aspects.
112 weddings and public events were organised, and 18 federal, local and private entities were hosted, as part of SDAD efforts to activate partnerships and support its policies in serving the community.
In a related context, the department moved towards providing quality services within the framework of its commitment to community service, whereas 72 requests from suburbs’ residents varied between public services, urgent requests, and dispute settlement.
In the affairs of the families of the deceased, 428 funerals were organised for the families of the deceased in the Emirate of Sharjah, which included hosting in suburban council halls, arranging funeral tents, signage services, hospitality services, and other services.
170 families benefited from funeral planning services in the Emirate of Sharjah, while the statistics of requests to process and settle the payment of debts for an insolvent deceased in the Emirate of Sharjah reached 9 requests.
With regard to the students parents’ councils in the Emirate of Sharjah, which recently joined the work of SDAD, the student parents’ councils at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah implemented 31 initiatives for a number of programmes affiliated with the main initiatives, 21 field visits were organised, and in the same context, 2,165 students were targeted by these initiatives, in addition to 1,431 guardians and community members.
At the conclusion of its report for the first quarter, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, member of Sharjah Executive Council and Head of SDAD, stressed the keenness of the suburban councils and administrations of the department to work and strive to serve the Emirate of Sharjah within the framework of the department’s specialisations and powers, which is to work to strengthen ties between families.
Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi added that SDAD continues to develop and enhance services to improve the quality of life in the suburbs and meet the general needs of the people in a way that serves the members of residential neighbourhoods in the emirate.
