Sharjah 24: As part of the activities of the holy month of Ramadan, Al Hamriyah Suburb Council, affiliated with the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, organised an important medical lecture by family medicine consultant, Dr. Adil Al Sajwani.
The lecture, which was the inauguration of the Ramadan programme witnessed a distinguished attendance by His Excellency Saif Obaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Hamriyah Suburb Council, His Excellency Humaid Khalaf Al Ali, Vice Chairman, and Humaid Fayez Al Shamsi, Vice Chairm of Al Hamriyah Municipal Council, in addition to Majid Mohammed Al Shamsi, Member of Al Hamriyah Suburb Council.
The number of attendees reached forty people from the region, who came to benefit from valuable medical information.
The lecture covered many educational topics, which included exploring the health benefits of fasting and how to make optimal use of the days of Ramadan in building the body and promoting health. The lecture was moderated by Dr. Sultan Fayez Al Shamsi, Member of the Hamriyah Suburb Council.
In the context of the lecture, Dr. Adil Al Sajwani focused on the importance of proper nutrition during the holy month of Ramadan, the correct eating habits and their impact on the health of the body during the fasting period, stressing the necessity of eating balanced meals that contain the necessary nutrients to maintain energy and activity during “Suhur,” avoid fatty and fried foods that increase feelings of hunger and thirst during the fasting period.
Dr. Al Sajwani also discussed the importance of drinking sufficient amounts of water during the night hours to avoid dehydration and ensure a feeling of comfort and energy during the fasting period.
At the end of the event, Dr. Adil Al Sajwani expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Al Hamriyah Suburb Council in organising such purposeful educational initiatives, and praised the active attendees who cared about their health and the health of their families. Dr. Adil Al Sajwani, was honoured for his participation in presenting the lecture and benefiting the community.
