Sharjah24: His Excellency, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UOS), inaugurated the activities of the Open Day for high school students from various public and private schools in the United Arab Emirates. The event, organized by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department (MSR) over three days, aims at allow students to discover the diverse range of academic programs offered by the UoS’s colleges, review the admission requirements, learn about the services provided by the departments and centers to its students, and explore the career oppertunities avaliable for all majors. The opening was attended by a number of vice chancellors, college deans, directors of departments and center, faculty and adminstrative members.
Dr. Nadia Farhat, Director of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, pointed out that the Open Day attracted nearly 2,500 male and female students to the university, emphasizing that this day is a great opportunity for high school students to meet and engage with faculty and administrative members to address their inquiries. She stated that Saturday is designated for parents to explore the University of Sharjah’s campus with the students and tour its scientific facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, and research centers equipped with the latest technologies.

Through the Open Day, the University of Sharjah aims to attract outstanding students and assist them in making thoughtful decisions about their academic majors by introducing them to the academic programs offered to qualify them to enter the workforce with the academic and career skills needed to compete successfully in the job market. Additionally, students will gain insight into the latest scientific and research projects undertaken by the university's colleges across various fields such as science, engineering, medicine, and others.
