The competitions included 20 races for weanlings, 12 races for the people of Dhaid, 4 difficult races for the people of Dhaid, and 4 open races, all over 1,500 meters, in the presence of large crowds of camel owners and lovers.
Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, confirmed that fatamin race competitions come under the generous and direct patronage of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, due to His Highness’s great interest in the sport of camel racing and for preserving this important heritage, and for support and encouragement for camel owners.
