Sharjah 24: Khalifa Rashid bin Hamoud Al Tuniji, a member of the 9th Al Dhaid Date Festival organising committee, revealed that this year’s edition featured a variety of activities aimed at motivating young people to be ambitious and creative.

Youth-focused competitions and training

Among the standout events were the "Little Farmer" and "Little Beekeeper" competitions, alongside training programmes for school and university students. These initiatives were designed to introduce youth to different types of palm trees and give them a chance to engage with experienced palm producers and date competition experts.

Preserving heritage and instilling values

In an exclusive statement to Sharjah 24, Al Tuniji stressed that these meaningful initiatives are crucial in inspiring the younger generation. They promote a connection with ancestral traditions—particularly the preservation and care of the palm tree—helping young participants grow into responsible individuals dedicated to serving their homeland.
