Sharjah 24: Coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which the UAE celebrates on the nineteenth of Ramadan, and to commemorate the passing of the late founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, affiliated with the Emirates Health Services, conducted a number of free operations for people with limited income, in continuation of the path of giving of Sheikh Zayed.
The hospital's surgery department and orthopedic department witnessed a number of free surgeries for people with limited income, including surgery to remove a colon tumor for an Asian patient in his seventies, and a surgery for a twenty-five-year-old Asian patient who attended the emergency department at Kuwait Hospital, following an accident that resulted in an open fracture of his left leg, he underwent stabilisation of the open fracture with a metal brace.
Afraa Salem, Director of Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, stated that the hospital’s participation in Zayed Humanitarian Work Day comes as an affirmation of its commitment to Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of giving and extending a helping hand to those in need, and as a dedication to the culture of work and humanitarian cooperation, which is considered an authentic legacy of Emirati society.
She pointed out that performing surgical operations on people with limited income, and visiting patients, came as an embodiment of the concepts of human values, which are considered a basic pillar in building society and its cohesion, translating the meanings of humanity in the best ways and instilling them in society.
The Kuwait Hospital administration also carried out a humanitarian visit to patients in the hospital on a tour that included all internal departments, to check on their health and present them with gifts, with the aim of establishing a culture of cooperation, and devoting the spirit of noble human values whose seeds were planted by the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, and in continuation of the journey of giving and dedication carried by wise leadership.
