Sharjah 24: Within the programme of the Ramadan Cultural Majlis, Sharjah Islamic Forum organised a lecture entitled “Rulings of Jurisprudence Muslims Cannot Ignore During Sickness”.
The initiative aims to raise religious awareness and enhance dialogue among inmates of the penal institution in Sharjah, and to contribute to supporting Sharjah vision of Islamic culture among members of society, by hosting sheikhs and scholars from Arab countries in a cultural series, throughout the holy month, which contributes to building an educated and tolerant society that respects diversity.

His Eminence Sheikh Wael Muhammad, the lecturer, praised this important Ramadan cultural initiative by Sharjah Islamic Forum, and his desire to raise awareness and educate inmates in the penal institution about the important jurisprudential rulings that Muslims must know, especially with regard to fasting during medical conditions. Fasting is considered a form of worship of the tolerant Sharia law, which grants exceptions to patients who are unable to fast Ramadan due to their health condition, and it is important to clarify these jurisprudential provisions to patients and emphasise that Islamic Sharia takes into account health conditions and grants the necessary permissions to facilitate things to the patient.

His Excellency Dr. Majid Bushalibi, Secretary-General of the Forum, said at the conclusion that these facilities are reflecting the mercy and tolerance of Islamic Sharia, reducing the burden of illness on individuals. These are some of the jurisprudential rulings related to patients and fasting during the month of Ramadan, and every decision must be made based on the individual health.

Dr. Bushalibi stressed that the Ramadan agenda this year addresses different institutions to benefit from the season of worship and raise awareness of jurisprudence. The series continues until the end of the month, and reflects the Forum’s keenness to communicate effectively with all segments of society, with tolerant to enhance the quality of psychological, health and social life.
