The Iftar project targets low-income workers in their residences and workplaces, as well as Iftar tents set up in several mosques across the emirate. This project embodies the principles of social solidarity and compassion that characterise the UAE society, demonstrating its commitment to supporting charitable efforts aimed at serving those in need.
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, the Executive Director of the SCI, emphasised that the project has received significant response from donors during the initial days of Ramadan. He pointed out that low-income workers and needy families are the primary beneficiaries of the project. The project focuses on distributing meals in densely populated areas among workers and regions suffering from poverty.
Bin Khadem explained that the project aims to provide daily meals to thousands of individuals while maintaining food safety and health standards. He noted that the Charity continues its efforts to increase the daily allocations for the project, with the goal of providing meals to over a million people by the end of Ramadan, contingent upon the cooperation and support of donors.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to the donors and sponsors of the Charity who actively contribute to supporting charitable endeavours, underscoring the importance of participating in charitable and volunteer programmes for the benefit of society.
