Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Ali, Director of Project Management and External Aid, highlighted the significance of the Ramadan Iftar project, underscoring its role as part of the association's annual Ramadan assistance programmes for those in need. This initiative extends the humanitarian aid already provided by the association worldwide, aligning with its commitment as a charitable institution in the UAE to support individuals facing adversity. The distribution efforts encompass a wide range of countries, including 20,000 beneficiaries in Egypt, 10,000 in Bahrain, 6,000 in Ethiopia, 15,000 in India, 7,000 in Malawi, 4,000 in Jordan, 5,000 in Bosnia, 4,000 in Pakistan, the same in Afghanistan, as well as 4,000 beneficiaries in Morocco, and 2,000 in Brazil, among others.
Al Ali emphasised the substantial turnout of fasting individuals in these countries during Ramadan, with distributions targeting both citizens and residents. Special attention is given to refugees in camps, ensuring that meals provided contain essential nutritional elements tailored to reflect the dietary preferences of each region. The association's offices collaborate closely with the embassies to execute the Iftar project efficiently, prioritising humanitarian principles. Selection of distribution areas and countries is based on thorough studies conducted to identify the most vulnerable groups, followed by targeted distribution efforts.
He expressed sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the generous donors supporting the project, emphasising the UAE's values of giving and generosity. Al Ali urged continued support for all campaign projects to effectively reach those most in need, reaffirming the commitment to humanitarian assistance on a global scale.
