Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Department, organised an event, which was launched last Monday, in cooperation with the Sharjah Driving Institute, in appreciation of drivers who adhere to traffic rules and instructions.

The event coincided with the activities of the Unified Gulf Traffic Week, which came under the theme “Driving Without a Phone.” 

It also came as an affirmation of the Sharjah Police’s keenness towards security awareness efforts in the country in preserving lives, roads, and property, by disseminating traffic safety concepts and promoting good behaviour, along with promoting safe driving, reducing traffic accidents and their resulting effects.

The event aims to celebrate motorists in the Emirate of Sharjah who adhere to traffic rules and who do not have any violations on their traffic record, by stopping them on the roads and surprising them by presenting them with gifts and certificates of thanks in appreciation.

The efforts of the Sharjah Traffic Police also included implementing awareness campaigns consisting of awareness messages and designs directed to the public through Sharjah Radio and the social media channels of the Sharjah Police, with the aim of enhancing traffic awareness of the dangers of using the phone while driving, and urging them to adhere to the application of traffic laws, in addition to intensifying the security presence of traffic patrols bearing the theme of Gulf Traffic Week on various external and internal roads of the Emirate of Sharjah and its affiliated cities.
