Sharjah 24: Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Khorfakkan, attended, on Wednesday, the opening ceremony of the activities of the 21st Sharjah Heritage Days in the city of Khorfakkan, organised by Sharjah Institute for Heritage, under the slogan “Connect,” and continues for two days in the heritage village in the old area.
Khaled Al Shehhi, Director of Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Khorfakkan Branch, confirmed that Sharjah Heritage Days in the city of Khorfakkan will have a busy programme this year. The programme will include many heritage and folklore events and activities that establish effective communication between generations and cultures.
 
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH); His Excellency Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan; Sultan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Emiri Diwan in Khorfakkan, and a crowd of officials and residents.

Khaled Al Shehhi, Director of SIH, Khorfakkan Branch, said that the 21st 21st Sharjah Heritage Days saw wide participation of government and private departments and institutions, museum owners, and productive families.

Al Shehhi added that the programme of events is full of surprises, popular folklore activities and performances, in addition to artistic workshops for children, and traditional crafts workshops stemming from the mountainous and agricultural environment that characterises Khorfakkan.
