Sharjah 24: Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), along with a number of official, toured the markets in Sharjah to check on their needs and requirements.
During the tour, and based on SEDD’s endeavour to strengthen the concept of partnership between government agencies and the private sector, which is considered an essential factor for the sustainability of the economic sector in the emirate, Al Mahmoud honoured the two oldest commercial licenses which are Al Orouba Pharmacy and Sasan Perfumes.
This comes within the SEDD’s concerns to achieve comprehensive economic development and develop a competitive business environment by strengthening institutional capabilities to attain a diverse and sustainable competitive economy that seeks economic well-being of the business community in cooperation with strategic partners.
Chairman of SEDD and the accompanying delegation were briefed about the services delivered, the logistical facilities, and the obstacles that can be addressed to enhance sales movement, which in turn contributes to increasing sales and retail trade and increasing the volume of internal trade to become the most important tributaries and sources for the development of the national economy.
Commenting on that, SEDD Chairman illustrated that the Department seeks to enhance cooperation and coordination with the commercial markets in the emirate, which is considered one of its strategic goals to enhance the frameworks of coordination and cooperation between them. HE clarified that this also falls within SEDD’s concerns to contribute constructively and positively to achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah, making the emirate occupy a distinguished position at the regional and international levels.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the Department pays great attention to ensure that all economic establishments operating in the emirate adhere to all applicable controls and provisions, and to provide the best services to the consumer, in an effort to ensure the safety of all economic practices in the markets. Likely, he stressed that SEDD teams work continuously to monitor the markets to protect them from all manifestations of commercial fraud and legal violations. In addition, HE emphasized that the inspection campaigns that SEDD carries out extensively will continue to ensure everyone’s compliance with the applicable controls and provisions and to provide the best services to the consumer.
SEDD Chairman added that the Department looks forward to create extensive mutual work with strategic partners, and it believes that coordinating and unifying efforts with various economic establishments is essential for the development and community building process through which the Sharjah witnesses every day.
