SEDD Passes ISO 7070:2016 Periodic Review

Shrjah24: Sharjah Economic Development Department has once again passed the procedures for the periodic review visit of the international accreditation of PAS 7070: 2016 Benchmarking Management Certificate. According to the report issued by the concerned authority, as well as the results of the audit showed the Department's full commitment to the requirements of the administrative system that is compatible with the aforementioned standard, it was recommended to continue granting the ISO certificate according to the scope of application. Such thing reflects SEDD’s commitment to international quality standards, and its keenness to continuously improve the levels and mechanisms of providing its services to all customers in accordance with the best international standards.
Commenting on that, Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, pointed out that the SEDD’s pass for the periodic review of PAS 7070: 2016 Benchmarking Management Certificate confirms its success in continuously developing the efficiency standards of its services, and bringing them to the highest levels, with the aim of achieving its mission and vision of attaining sustainable economic development and applying quality in practices. HE added that the Department seeks to continue the adaptation of institutional excellence according to Clear and well-studied global plans in various fields, through improving administrative work systems and adopting best international practices and standards that ensure the provision of distinguished, quality and effective services.

On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department at SEDD, said that passing the periodic review of ISO PAS 7070: 2016 contributes to identifying the organizational needs of the Department to measure its performance. Also, he clarified that such thing supports documenting the administrative practices and procedures in addition to analyzing them, determining their effectiveness, and making development decisions that may support them. Likely, they help in identifying other entities that are likely to be able to provide followed practices by organizing a number of standard comparisons and visits to them, to look into the procedures and services offered to benefit from them and adopt best practices in procedures, quality systems and institutional excellence. 

Moreover, Dr. Al Ali explained that this success contributes to supporting the system of excellence and institutional development and raising the efficiency of strategic plans, in accordance with international best practices, ensuring the Department’s ability to respond flexibly and continuously, to keep pace with any changes in the needs and expectations of customers, and to ensure the sustainability of results in all circumstances.
