Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department ( SSSD) held its second Community Responsibility Forum this morning. The event, themed "The Impact of Community Responsibility," was hosted at the Sharjah Classic Cars Club.
The forum's goal is to explore the experiences of diverse organisations in the sphere of community responsibility and to consolidate practices that are consistent with the UAE's vision. The conference also aims to strengthen community partnerships, develop strategies to maximise the effect of community responsibility programmes, and include charitable, semi-governmental, and governmental sectors, as well as university students.

In her introductory remarks, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion, stated that the conference brings together community responsibility stakeholders to discuss sustainable community initiatives.

She emphasised the Social Services Department's stance that organisations must go beyond financial profit in order to have a beneficial influence on society and the environment.

The forum is intended to promote communication, engagement, and social cohesiveness among individuals and institutions while also encouraging corporations to establish a balance between financial gain, community involvement, and environmental sustainability.

Al Hammadi also emphasised the need for social marketing for community responsibility programmes that match societal welfare and institutional activities, with the goal of attracting supporters while also providing feedback and queries about their contributions and the community's success.

During the forum, the electronic platform for community duty was established, which allows entities and people to contribute to the department's social responsibility programmes throughout the year, with an emphasis on social solidarity.

Aisha Saleh, Head of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Festivals and Shows Department, addressed the chamber's experience in community responsibility, including the Sharjah Chamber's corporate social responsibility platform, which will be launched in 2021 to promote sustainable practices and raise awareness of corporate social responsibility concepts.

The forum culminated with a panel discussion titled "The Achieved Impact of Adopting Community Responsibility Practices," which included officials from the Sharjah Cooperative Society, Abu Dhabi Zakat Fund, and Dubai Islamic Bank. They emphasised the necessity of community responsibility and sustainable development in addressing societal and individual needs in order to improve quality of life.

At the end of the event, Hessa Al-Hammadi acknowledged the forum's attendees and organisers.
