Sharjah Lights Festival brings delight to Central Region

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Lights Festival, now in its thirteenth year, was organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority. It included twelve tourism, cultural, and entertainment spots around the emirate, including the vicinity of Al Dhaid Fort.
Surrounded by emotionally charged music, the fort was dressed up in three dimensions using projection mapping techniques. "Echoes of Al Dhaid" was the title of the piece of art that "RESORB" artist Stefan Ihmig displayed. The artwork, which wonderfully depicted the region's history, brought joy and delight to both visitors and inhabitants.

Tourists flock to Al Dhaid Fort because of its prominent position in the city. It was built in 1820 while Sharjah's monarch, Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, was ruling. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, restored it and reopened it in 2022.
