February 12, 2024 / 1:10 PM
Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council has recently launched five swimming training sessions starting from the 4th of February until the 10th of March. These gatherings take place at Mleiha Cultural Sports Club and involve 29 young swimmers from different clubs such as Al Bataeh, Al Hamriyah, Mleiha, Dibba Al Hisn, and Al Dhaid Development Club.
The young swimmers are divided into four age groups, ranging from under 8 years to 14 years old. The main objective of these sessions is to enhance the swimming skills of these young groups and increase their training load. The Council had approved this plan and included it in this year's swimming activity program.

Nine coaches oversee these programmes, with the presence of Hassan Al Toumi, a swimming expert in the Council's Sports Affairs and Development Department.

The Director of the Sports Affairs and Development Department, Mohammed Obaid Al Husan, has highlighted the benefits of implementing a swimming programme. This programme not only helps the participating swimmers but also provides opportunities for coaches to assess players' levels, develop their skills, and achieve desired goals. The programme is of great importance in discovering and preparing future swimming champions.
