Sharjah24: Egypt's Sporting and Kuwait's Salwa Alsabah have rightfully clinched their spots in the volleyball showdown at the ongoing Arab Women's Sports Tournament (AWST 2024), setting the stage for a thrilling finale. This came after deserved victories over host team Sharjah Women's Sports Club and Lebanon's Byblos on Saturday.
The Egyptian team won against the Sharjah Women's Sports Club with a score of 3-0 in sets (25-22, 25-17, and 25-8), while the Kuwaiti Salwa Alsabah team defeated the Lebanese team with a score of 3-2 in sets (25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 11-25, and 16-14.
Placement Matches
In the placement matches for positions (5-8), Iraq's Akkad Ankawa taking won against the Syrian Taldara SC team with a score of 3-0 in sets (25-22, 25-20, and 25-20), while the Jordanian De La Salle team defeated UAE's Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy team with a score of 3-2 in sets (25-21, 19-25, 26-28, 25-21, and 13-15). They will face each other tomorrow (Sunday) at 12 PM at the Khorfakkan Club to determine the fifth and sixth places.
Tomorrow's Matches
In the first matchup tomorrow at 10 AM, Syrian Taldara SC will face Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy to determine the seventh and eighth places. Akkad Ankawa faces Jordanian De La Salle to determine the fifth and sixth places.
The tournament concludes on Monday, with a match to determine the third and fourth places between the host team, Sharjah Women's Sports Club and Lebanese Byblos, and the final match concluding the 7th edition of AWST 2024 competition between Egypt's Sporting and Kuwaiti Salwa Alsabah.
