Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, on Wednesday, attended the opening ceremony of the Fourth Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship, in Khorfakkan Amphitheatre.
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi said that the tournament, organised by SSC, is a major sporting event that brings together many players from different countries of the world, which promotes the sports movement and tourism in the cities of the Eastern Region.
Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi added that SSC efforts, in this context, are appreciated, as they have enhanced the sports movement in different cities in the region, by organising many major sports tournaments recently.
The Deputy Head of the Ruler’s office in Khorfakkan explained that Sharjah government gives the sports sector its greatest attention, and works hard to establish the culture of practicing sports and make it a lifestyle for different groups of the society.
