Sharjah24: The 21st edition of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) is now accepting submissions from November 1st to December 31st, 2023. This prestigious award program includes 11 diverse categories aimed at bolstering volunteer initiatives within the community.
One of the categories is the "Best Volunteering Opportunities Provider Award" which encourages participation from government bodies, non-profit organisations, and volunteer teams that have effectively implemented innovative and impactful projects for the community.
The main objective of this award is to motivate participants to come up with volunteer projects that focus on specific events or activities. In addition, it seeks to provide volunteers with a diverse array of experiences in the field of social responsibility.
Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work stressed the importance of finding volunteering opportunities that match the organization's expertise and require a commitment of at least one year. These opportunities should include a dedicated group of individuals, supporters, and contributors. Participants must provide a range of documents through the award's official website.
A diligent evaluation committee will thoroughly assess the projects, taking into account specific criteria that encompass various aspects, ranging from planning to motivation. The evaluation will also focus on ensuring that the project's concept, objectives, execution plan, task allocation, goal attainment, and the impact of volunteer work are clear and effective. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony held in Sharjah.
