Sharjah24: In conjunction with the UAE hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) affirmed that the Authority has contributed to some vital and sustainable projects across different platforms, including the 10th edition of Sharjah International Travel & Tourism Forum.
Al Midfa said to "Sharjah24"that the forum discussed the importance of sustainability in the tourism sector, which plays a crucial role in the local and global economy. In addition, the Authority has successfully organised a series of workshops and events focused on sustainability, working closely with our partners from government institutions and the private sector. He added that by implementing these initiatives, we have strengthened the idea of sustainability, highlighting its significance.
His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa highlighted that the current and future efforts of the United Arab Emirates align with this direction, stressing that these efforts are based on fundamental principles aimed at ensuring the development of resources and communities. He expressed hope that their contributions in the field of sustainability will prove successful.
