Sharjah24: With few days to go for the world’s leading single-seater powerboat racing event, the UIM F1H2O World Championship finals, which is being hosted for the first time in the UAE in the emirate of Sharjah, the host - Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), as well as the organiser - UIM F1H2O, will reveal the exciting details of the Sharjah World Championship Week on Thursday, December 7, 2023, during a press conference at the media centre across from Corniche Hotel Sharjah, Khalid Lagoon.
The high-octane finale of the championship’s 22nd edition will play out on the azure waters of Khalid Lagoon from December 8 - 10, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.
A key opportunity for the UAE’s sports journalists to obtain crucial information on what is popularly known as the Grand Prix of powerboat racing, the press conference will detail new race modules and modifications that will make their championship debut in Sharjah. For example, the F1H2O World Championship will witness the sprint format. Additionally, competitors will share their performance vision for the finals, and more.
The qualifiers will take place on Friday, December 8, and to determine pole positions for the final races.
SCDTA revealed that preparations for hosting Sharjah World Championship Week have been completed, including the new track on Khalid Lagoon.
