Khalid Al Midfa: Sharjah WC Week kicks off at Khalid Lagoon

Sharjah24: During a press conference held on Thursday, His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced the latest updates on the Sharjah World Championship Week (SWCW). Among the upcoming events are the much-awaited Formula 1 Powerboat Racing World Championship and the 22nd edition of the Sharjah Grand Prix.

The event, taking place at the emirate’s picturesque Khalid Lagoon from December 8th to 10th, is organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) and held under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council. 

Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah24” he stated that the Emirate of Sharjah has made significant advancements in organising this international sporting event over the past 22 years, witnessing improvements in the event’s venue, services, and facilities. He added that this will greatly benefit the visitors and audiences from around the world.

He continued, “This year, we are delighted to have the privilege of hosting delegations from various countries, including highly respected ministers specialising in various fields. They are here to assess the organisation and preparations, and to witness the exciting races of the Formula 1 Powerboat Racing World Championship. At Khalid Lagoon, the stage is set for the thrilling Formula 1 races that will determine the 2023 world champion.”
