Sharjah24: Dr Tariq Sultan bin Khadem was elected Vice President of the World Federation of Abilities (WFA) in its new structure after the merger of the World Federation of Wheelchair Sports and Cerebral Palsy Sports under one umbrella during the World Federation of Abilities' General Assembly on the sidelines of the Special Olympics World Games.
Bin Khadem holds the seat for the third time with an enormous majority, receiving 63 votes out of a total of 68 ballots cast.
Dr Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Deputy President of the UAE Paralympic Committee, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Thiqa Club for the Disabled, and Vice President of the World Federation of Abilities, dedicated the victory to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, as well as the entire community of people with determination.
He remarked that the UAE's victory for the third time in a row is a testament to the tenacity of the country's people and a victory for the Arab world.
