Sharjah's ALECGS Shines at Regional Conference in Egypt

Sharjah24 : The Sharjah-based Arabic Language Educational Center for Gulf States (ALECGS), part of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), wrapped up its participation in the Regional Arabic Language Experts Conference. This conference, titled "Advancing Arabic Language in Education for the Construction of More Inclusive Communities," was held at the American University in Cairo and concluded yesterday evening.
Organised by the American University in collaboration with the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation and the Regional Office of UNESCO in Beirut, the conference is part of UNESCO's endeavours to safeguard Arab identity amidst diverse cultures and underscore the reinforcement of a sense of belonging.

The conference encompassed dialogues addressing the prospects and challenges confronting the Arabic language, the attainment of educational excellence, the nexus between language, identity, and values within the Arab region. The objective is to foster more inclusive societies, accompanied by a strategic plan to bolster the presence of the Arabic language in education and local communities.

Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, Director of (ALECGS), actively participated in the conference's proceedings. Additionally, he presided over the seventh scientific session titled "Optimal Approaches in Teaching Methods and Curricula," featuring various scholarly papers. One such paper, titled "Addressing the Challenge of Classroom Duality," was presented by Ragda Al-Issawi from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

Furthermore, Al-Hammadi presented a copy of the "Reference Framework for Teaching Arabic Language to Speakers of Other Languages: Compilation-Education-Training" to His Excellency Dr. Redha Hegazy, the Minister of Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the conference.
