The pavilion will showcase the Council's parliamentary vision and dedication to converting public interests into concrete policies and ideas. It includes fresh publications on social and developmental issues, as well as summaries of parliamentary sessions and recommendations compiled across multiple legislative terms. Visitors are given an intriguing glimpse into the Council's interactive process of debate, consultation, and issue solving.
Along with its pavilion, SCC is arranging three debate sessions as part of the "Cultural Café" program, which will take place every day at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall of Thought. Each session brings together council members, academics, and specialists to explore critical community priorities.
The first session, themed "Family and Education Partnership in Shaping the Future", will be held on Thursday, November 6. Participants include Saeed Matar Bin Hamad Al Al Tunaiji, SCC Member and Chairman of the Family Affairs Committee; Dr Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi, SCC Member and member of the Education, Culture, Media, and Youth Affairs Committee; and Dr Alaa Al Taie from the University of Sharjah's College of Sociology. The event, hosted by media presenter Waleed Aref, will look at the complementary roles of family and school in creating a generation that is robust to the challenges of the digital world.
The second session, titled "Book Economy…the Publishing Industry in the Arab World", will take place on Wednesday, November 12. Speakers include Rashid Abdullah Bin Huwaiden, SCC Member and Chairman of the Economic, Financial, and Industrial Affairs Committee; Dr Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab, SCC Member and Rapporteur of the same committee; and Professor Dr Mohammed Qasim and Dr Maysar Al Taie from the University of Sharjah's College of Business Administration. The event, moderated by media specialist Ismail Al Sheibani, will look at the realities and challenges of the publishing sector, such as funding, distribution networks, and the rise of digital publishing throughout the Arab region.
The third session, themed "Voice of the Nation…from observation to legislation", will be held on Thursday, November 13th. Speakers include Hamad Al Qawadi, SCC Member and member of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee; Obaid Al Mazmi, SCC Member and Committee Rapporteur; and Dr Manal Mirza from the University of Sharjah's Faculty of Law. The conversation, hosted by television host Ayman Musabeh, will look at how citizens' concerns evolve into legislative initiatives and formal proposals, as well as procedures for oversight, accountability, and government response.
The SCC's participation in both the fair and the Cultural Café demonstrates its dedication to openness, dialogue, and knowledge exchange. It invites the public, academics, and decision-makers to participate in productive conversations, while also providing visitors with a direct view of parliamentary outputs and the opportunity to contact Council members.
Mira Khalifa Al Muqrab, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Consultative Council, stated that the Council's participation demonstrates its continued commitment to raising public awareness and improving community engagement in parliamentary activities. She emphasised that the SCC's showcased publications embody the principles of consultation established by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah since 1999—documenting the Council's evolving role in supporting Sharjah's development over the years.
