Sharjah24: The Arabic Language Education Centre for the Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah, a subsidiary of The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), organised a special seminar titled "The Reference Framework for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers: Developing, Education, and Training" as part of the International Conference in Dubai. In this seminar, the first-of-its-kind reference framework in the world for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers was unveiled.
The programme adopted by the centre aims to create a comprehensive framework for standards in the developing syllabus, education, and training of Arabic language teaching curricula for non-native speakers.
It focuses on ensuring the compatibility of these standards with international practices and establishing assessment mechanisms in line with modern scientific standards.

Several international experts in the field of Arabic for both native and non-native speakers participated in the seminar, providing an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and ideas in this crucial area.

Dr Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of ALECGS in Sharjah, highlighted the importance of this programme. It is built according to the best international practices for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, monitoring global and Arab experiences in the standards of composition, education, and training of Arabic language teaching curricula for non-native speakers.

Al Hammadi added that, in the implementation of this programme, the Educational Centre for Arabic Language in the Gulf Countries has developed a plan to ensure the achievement of its intended goals through activities and implementation mechanisms.
