Sharjah24: The Arabic Education Training Center for Gulf States (ALECGS), a branch of the The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), is actively participating in the 42nd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2023), hosted by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
The Sharjah International Book Fair stands as a significant cultural exhibition in the region, drawing a diverse audience of readers and experts from the UAE and beyond.
As part of the exhibition, the centre organised a seminar titled "Advancing Arabic Language Teaching and Learning: The Initiatives of (ALECGS)." This seminar was presented by Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of (ALECGS), and took place last night.
Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi clarified that a reference framework for instructing Arabic to non-native speakers has been developed in response to the directive of the Gulf leaderships to enhance the Arabic language. With recent advancements in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, the Gulf Ministers of Education, who are members of the General Conference of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, have endorsed the "Reference Framework for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers (Authoring, Teaching, Training)" programme as part of their educational policies. This initiative falls under ALECGS’s plan and is designed to create a comprehensive framework for developing curricula for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It underscores the critical features and requirements necessary for creating effective Arabic language curricula for non-native speakers.
