Sharjah 24: For the convenience of Sharjah citizens, the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) has signed an agreement with the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to enrol it in the government’s “Waffer” discount scheme.
On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Directorate of Human Resources' headquarters, Engineer Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, a Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, and Mr Ryan Morris, IHG's Regional Sales Director for India, the Middle East, and Africa, signed an agreement establishing their partnership.

As part of the deal, “Waffer” cards may save up to 25% at participating hotels inside the nation and up to 16% at participating hotels in the IHG Group's global portfolio of more than 6,000 hotels and resorts (including suites, luxury, and essential hotels) outside of the country.

With the help of this new partnership, the “Waffer” programme will be ready to provide its cardholders with the unique services and savings opportunities they require.

Al Shamsi lauded IHG's inclusion in the list of “Waffer” partners, saying that it represents well all recipients who will be allowed to receive discounts and privileges at top hotels throughout the world, helping to revitalise the tourist industry. He reaffirmed the “Waffer” programme's determination to maintain its current pattern of contracting with vendors from a wide range of industries and service fields.

Ryan Morris, Regional Sales Director for India, the Middle East, and Africa, has voiced his delight at working with the Sharjah government. He noted that this relationship represents their group's dedication to offering substantial services to local customers.
