The initiative comes to strengthen the Council’s social and humanitarian work, consolidate its role in serving segments of society, contribute to developing the standard of living of a number of groups, and support quality services provided to the residents of the Sharjah Elderly Home affiliated with Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD).
The Council allocated 105 packages of health supplies that the elderly need to enable them to live decently.
The initiative was integrated with Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council’s approach to supporting charitable and humanitarian institutions operating in the Emirate of Sharjah, strengthening community communication with all members of society and promoting the values of righteousness and charity for elderly people.
Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council accompanied by Council official Imran Al Hammadi and Council employees Abdulaziz Al Abdouli, Hamed Al Hammadi and Hamdan Al Marri, received Hussein Muhammad Abdullah Al Hammadi, Public Services Supervisor from the Elderly Care Department of SSSD, at the Council’s headquarters.
Al Marri welcomed Al Hammadi, stressing that Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council is keen to strengthen this cooperation, which reflects an aspect of social communication in terms of providing support to the elderly who have the right to care.
Al Marri stated that the initiative aims to provide health supplies for the elderly, which is a simple right, pointing out that they are a blessing in society and the council is keen to include them to its permanent initiatives.
Hussein Muhammad Abdullah Al Hammadi thanked and appreciated the Chairman, members and employees of the Council for all the community roles they play, and stressed that the Sharjah Elderly Home affiliated with Sharjah Social Services Department will continuously work with the Council.
