Sharjah24: His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD”, received a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology “MoIAT”, headed by His Excellency Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary of Industrial Accelerator Sector at MoIAT, Hamad Saif, Head of Industrial Innovation Department at MoIAT, and Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi, an industrial engineer. This meeting came within the interest to strengthen integration and partnership between federal and local government agencies, to promote industrial growth in the country and to create an appropriate and attractive business environment for local and international investors in the industrial sectors.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency SEDD Chairman welcomed the delegation and stressed on its role to promote various cooperation between the two sides. His Excellency also praised the national efforts made and the integration at the federal and local levels and the continuous communication between the government and private sectors based on stimulating the capabilities and competitiveness of UAE industrial sector, creating an appropriate and attractive business environment for investors in various fields, and establishing a stimulating work system for establishing and developing industrial projects and moving them to global levels.
In addition, the two parties discussed a number of common matters, where they touched on the capabilities and incentives of the industrial sector in the country, and how to develop policies, legislation, procedures and incentives related to the industrial sector in the country that contribute to achieving sustainable growth and enhancing national added value.
Likely, His Excellency noted that the qualitative achievements attained through integrated efforts and continuous coordination, pointing out that the industrial sector in UAE has many promising capabilities and opportunities to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership and play a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy. His Excellency stressed that the role of the Industrial Development Council, which is one of the factors supporting the achievement of this trend, by enabling industrial development, enhancing national added value, increasing the competitiveness of UAE industries and their spread in local, regional and international markets and attracting direct foreign investments. In addition, His Excellency pointed out that SEDD is working to support the efforts of MoIAT, by supporting the decisions of the Industrial Development Council.
By the end of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of enhancing future cooperation in line with government service standards. Also, they pointed out to the importance of holding such meetings on an ongoing basis because of their major role in accelerating development processes, enhancing investment movement, and unifying mutual efforts and work between the two parties.
