The scientific course brought together a number of scholars and intellectuals from different Sharia law specialisations, and expanded the treatment of deductive reasoning in light of the contemporary challenges facing the world, which requires a deep understanding and advanced knowledge.
Over two days, the course discussed issues of deductive reasoning and its impact on the lives of societies; and ways to deduct rulings in light of economic and social challenges and finding solutions within Sharia to these modern challenges.
Dr. Majid Bushalibi, Secretary General of the Islamic Forum, stressed that the course enhances cultural dialogue and understanding between different cultures and religions, and this scientific event constitutes an opportunity to learn about deductive rulings of Islam and its objectives in organising the lives of societies, and strengthening ties between different societies, leading to achieving rapprochement and mutual understanding in Facing multiple cultural challenges.
Bushalibi explained the importance of the course as a scientific programme within the Islamic Forum 2023’ series of Islamic culture programmes, which provides a comprehensive guide to tools for research and cognitive investigation for scholars, enabling them to interpret and apply better and more accurately Sharia rulings, and an important tool for religious education and a permissive understanding of noble purposes.
Dr. Mohammed Sama’i, Professor of the College of Sharia, University of Sharjah, said that the science of “Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence” is the science of the “roots of Fiqh” and is one of the most important Islamic sciences that deals with the rules and principles on which tolerant Islamic jurisprudence is based, which is necessary to achieve a sound understanding of Sharia issues.
Dr. Sama’i added that “Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence” is a guide for deducing Sharia rulings, and is essential for understanding the purposes of the noble Sharia, and applying them in daily life, at all times, and everywhere, and its importance stems from understanding and interpreting religion, establishing worship, and organising the customs of society correctly.
The course covered many topics, including: a general introduction to the science of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence, introducing the science of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and its importance in Sharia understanding and deduction.
The course attracted a group of scholars, students, and researchers in the Sharia sciences, and provided an ideal opportunity for the participants to exchange points of view and insight.
