AQU launches initiative for older persons

This initiative was launched in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, represented in the Senior Citizens Services Centre through the Al-Asalah Club, in addition to the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).

Through adopting such program, he Student Affairs Deanship at Al Qasimia University aims to instill the values of kindness and respect for elderly citizens in the hearts of students and the community. It underlined the value of senior citizens, as the greatest treasure of the family and society.

The initiative, featuring diverse and varied activities, underscored the significance of spending time with the elderly, contributing to promoting cohesion and unity amongst the community, as the seniors can share their wisdom and help the new generation to develop many different skills.

A special visit to the Rain Room, one of Sharjah's most popular tourist sites, was undertaken as part of the initiative.

In conclusion, senior citizens were hosted for breakfast at one of the tourist destinations in Al Qasba in Sharjah.
