AQU hosts 'Role of Continuing Education in RPL' seminar

Sharjah 24: Al Qasimia University (AQU) hosted a seminar entitled “The Role of Continuing Education in Recognising Prior Learning (RPL),” organised by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the UAE Ministry of Education.
This came in the presence of His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University; His Excellency Professor Dr. Imad Abu Al Roub, Commissioner of Academic Accreditation, on behalf of Professor Dr. Mohammed Yousef Bani Yas, Director of CAA; and a number of university presidents, officials, academic commissioners, and key speakers.

During his opening speech, His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf extended his deepest thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Founder of Al Qasimia University, for his continued support for the progress of Al Qasimia University and students who come from all countries of the world. 

His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf also thanked the CAA and the university’s organisational committee for the efforts made in organising the seminar.

In turn, Professor Dr. Imad Abu Al Roub thanked Al Qasimia University for its generous hosting and praised the educational efforts made at the university, stressing the importance of the seminar discussing modern trends in the fields of continuing education and prior learning in higher education institutions, and to exchange experiences on global and local best practices.

The seminar included a number of sessions, lectures and panel discussions delivered by a number of university administrators and specialists in the field of continuing education and prior learning. The seminar was attended by 170 participants representing licensed higher education institutions in the UAE.
