Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council hosted the third edition of the "Wadi Al Helo Community Run" on Sunday at the historic Wadi Al Helo location, with teams from throughout the UAE taking part.
According to Omar bin Haniyfa, a member of the Sharjah Sports Council's board of directors, the competition has gained significant success year after year, with both professional and amateur athletes participating.
He stated that the third edition attracted over 300 male and female runners of all ages, participating in three categories: 1.5 kilometres, 5 kilometres, and 10 kilometres.
Bin Haniyfa went on to say that the race is one of the events that the Sharjah Sports Council would like to organise in order to develop a sports culture and make it a way of life, as well as to encourage sports tourism in various regions of the Emirate.
