UAE becomes 100th member of Phygital Games Network

Sharjah 24: The UAE Esports Federation has officially joined the Global Phygital Games Network as its 100th member. This milestone comes just ahead of the inaugural Future Games, set to be held in Abu Dhabi in December 2025, where participants will compete for a prize pool of USD 5 million.

Blending physical and digital sports

Phygital games are an innovative fusion of physical and digital competition. The network, launched just a year ago, has quickly drawn interest from numerous global sports federations and organisations that are embracing this new format.

UAE's commitment to Esports growth

Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Esports Federation, highlighted the significance of joining the network ahead of Abu Dhabi’s major role as host of the Future Games. He reaffirmed the Federation's commitment to the advancement and success of esports in the UAE.

Government support for innovation in sports

Dr Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sport, praised the UAE’s membership in the Phygital Games Network, underlining the nation’s focus on innovation at the intersection of sports and technology. He expressed optimism about the UAE’s active role in shaping a new era of global sports leadership, stating: “We look forward to welcoming top athletes and fans from around the world to the Future Games 2025 in Abu Dhabi this December.”
