Sharjah 24: Louay Saeed Allay, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, confirmed the club’s keenness to spread awareness of ways to support the visually impaired and people with disabilities in general, to various groups of society, to help them rely on themselves and achieve by their selves.
The Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled organised, on Friday, at the new Khorfakkan Corniche, an awareness event on the occasion of World White Cane Day, with the participation of a number of club members and partners.
Louay Saeed Allay, Vice Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, explained in special statements to “Sharjah 24” that the event aims to spread awareness among various segments of society, on the occasion of World White Cane Day, which the world celebrates on October 15 every year.
He added that the club was keen to organise several activities in this context, including introducing the white cane and its importance in the lives of blind people, in addition to introducing attendees to Braille reading methods, and several sports competitions for the blind.
He pointed out the club’s keenness to hold such events that would enhance awareness and support people with various disabilities, including visual, motor, sensory, and mental disabilities.
