Sharjah 24: The Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired celebrated International White Cane Day, which falls on 15 October of each year, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of this day in line with the efforts of the association in empowering the visually impaired.
This came in the presence of Adel Abdullah Al Zumar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors and a group of members of the association and their families, and representatives of educational and community institutions.
They are accompanied by a group of representatives of the departments of the Sharjah Police.
On this occasion, Adel Al Zumar stated that the association is keen to organise a set of activities that would involve the community in the events of the visually impaired due to the importance of the International White Cane Day, with the aim of educating the community about the importance of the cane and its uses.
