Salem bin Abdulrahman witnesses graduation of HCT in Sharjah

Sharjah24: Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office witnessed, Thursday afternoon, the graduation ceremony of 631 male and female students from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Sharjah, for 2023’s "Today's Leaders for Tomorrow " cohort. The ceremony took place in the University City Hall.
The ceremony began with the national anthem of the UAE, then Ghaya Saad Al-Ahbabi, the Green Girl and Ambassador for Environment and Climate, delivered a welcoming speech. She emphasised the role of youth in shaping the future and stressed the importance of making the most of the incentive opportunities that the country provides to its young people for building the future, with commitment to development and sustainability.

The audience watched a visual presentation titled "We Are the Future Makers," which demonstrated how universities train their graduates to be future leaders in their professions and provide them with various skills.

During the ceremony, Dr. Faisal Al Ayyan, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, gave a speech in which he thanked the wise leadership of the UAE for their unlimited support to the colleges’ march, which enabled them to successfully carry out their role. He underscored the HCT’s commitment to maintain its position as a leader in applied education and achieve outcomes that meet national ambitions. 

At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Al-Ayyan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the teachers, staff, and technical teams in the colleges for their significant efforts in preparing the students. He congratulated the graduates on their excellence, wishing them continuous success in their future lives.

The graduates speech was delivered by graduate Abdulaziz bin Darwish and graduate Maryam Tariq Al Harmoudi who expressed their thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership.

After that, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi presented the Badge of Honour to the father of the graduate Abdulaziz bin Darwish, the top student among the male students, and to the mother of the graduate Maryam Tariq Al Harmoudi, the top female student, in recognition of their parenting role in motivating their children to achieve success in their studying. 

Then, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi handed the graduates their certificates and took a commemorative photo with them. There were a total of 205 male graduates and 426 female graduates from various fields including engineering, health sciences, computer and information sciences, business administration, applied media, and education.
