Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Award for Volunteer Work recently conducted an educational workshop aimed at cultivating a sense of volunteerism among children. This workshop was held at Al-Qurain Kindergarten in Sharjah with the primary goal of nurturing a volunteer-oriented mindset in youngsters and motivating them to engage positively in community service.
Approximately 145 children participated in this workshop and gained a valuable experience designed to raise their awareness about the significance of volunteer work in the construction of a better society.
Fatima Musa Al-Balushi, the executive director of the award, highlighted that this workshop forms a crucial part of the Sharjah Award for Volunteer Work's endeavours to promote a culture of volunteerism among the younger generations and instill important values in them from an early age. The award's programmes for children encompass a range of activities, awareness workshops, and volunteer initiatives, all aimed at fostering their enthusiasm for volunteering and encouraging their involvement in community service.
Al-Balushi expressed her appreciation to the award's partners, including schools, kindergartens, and various educational institutions that are dedicated to the welfare of children.
The organisation and delivery of such workshops in schools and kindergartens represent a significant stride towards instilling the values of volunteerism in children and motivating them to actively participate in volunteer work that not only benefits the community but also offers numerous advantages to the younger generation.
