Sharjah 24: His Excellency Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA), received a visit from His Excellency Sharif Salim Al-Olama, the Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
During their meeting, they discussed various aspects of enhancing their collaborative efforts to promote sustainable development, advance energy projects to meet the growing demand and address challenges, digitise systems and procedures for improved customer service, and upgrade transportation, distribution, and electrical interconnection systems while enhancing the efficiency of production units.
Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi stressed that the Authority, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is committed to maintaining open communication and coordination with all government entities and specialised companies. They aim to take necessary measures to develop their areas of operation and provide services of the highest standards to the residents of Sharjah, including both citizens and residents.
He explained that the Authority is dedicated to fostering cooperation and collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and all relevant entities. They plan to leverage modern technologies to support the UAE's Energy Strategy 2050, increase energy efficiency, meet energy demands, reduce carbon emissions, minimise environmental impact from production operations, and raise awareness about optimal energy usage through specialised research and studies. The ongoing development of energy-related infrastructure projects will extend across all regions of Sharjah.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the Ministry of Energy as a strategic partner of the Authority, highlighting the continuous coordination and knowledge exchange between the two entities.
