Al Dhaid hosts 5-year camel race competitions

The event, hosted by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, featured 12 races over a 5-kilometre course and attracted many camel owners and fans.

Winners in each round went to various camel owners, displaying a broad range of talent in the sport of camel racing. The camel races are held to honour the sport's history and provide camel owners with an opportunity to compete.

Sharjah Camel Racing Club President and gentleman Matar Ali bin Hweidan Al-Ketbi said that the weekly Rulers Diwan' Badge camel racing competition will continue every Saturday morning at Al-Dhaid Racecourse. Tribal camels are key competitors in the 5-year race contests, where they regularly place among the top finishers.
