Sharjah24: The 2nd International Quranic Forum for students of the Colleges of the Holy Quran, organised by the College of the Holy Quran at Al Qasimia University, concluded under the title “Human Values in the Holy Quran: Rooting and Revealing,” in the presence of His Excellency Professor Jamal Al-Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University (AQU), members of the Board of Trustees, and His Excellency Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, Heads of departments and deans of Holy Quran colleges from several countries, and a large group of invitees, researchers and students.
The event opened with a scientific symposium titled "The Role of Institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah in Consolidating Human Values," which was attended by representatives from a variety of major institutions involved with the Holy Quran, social affairs, and the family. The meeting also featured an exhibition of numerous organisations concerned with the Holy Quran and the spread of Islamic culture.
The Forum included several scientific discussions on social and moral values in the Holy Quran, including the presentation of 12 scientific papers by researchers representing Holy Quran colleges from around the world, with the goal of enhancing knowledge and research exchange between specialists and students.
The participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of Al Qasimia University, lauding His Highness’ tireless support in serving the Holy Quran and spreading its sciences.
During his speech at the opening of the Forum, His Excellency Awad Al Khalaf praised the support and the permanent directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, towards promoting noble human values and morals and spreading the concepts of moderation, shedding light on the importance of this Forum, which is being held in its second session, reflecting the commitment of the UAE in general and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular to care greatly about the Holy Quran and its studies.
His Excellency Professor Jamal Al-Tarifi accompanied by His Excellency Awad Al Khalaf honoured the guests of the Forum and the partners from different institutions working in the field of the Holy Quran in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Forum's closing statement emphasised the importance of communication and meeting between colleges of the Holy Quran in various Arab and Islamic universities, as well as the need to develop a common database amongst colleges of the Holy Quran, contributing to improve collaboration and scientific research.
A number of memorandums of understanding were signed on the sidelines of the forum between the College of the Holy Quran at Al Qasimia University and its counterpart institutions, including the College of the Holy Quran for Recitations and its Sciences at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and the Dar Al- Quran Foundation in Indonesia.
