Sharjah24: A mosque, school, student accommodation, water wells, a medical facility, and a commercial outlet are all part of the new philanthropic complex that Sharjah Charity International is constructing in Uganda.
The facility was opened in the rural district of Mirembe, Uganda, and is a major effort to meet the needs of the local community.

A delegation from Sharjah Charity International, led by Mohamed Hamdan Al Zari, director of the organisation's Projects and Aid Sector, and Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi, director of its Resources and Investment Sector, attended the inauguration ceremony.

The 464-square-metre complex includes a mosque that can fit over 160 worshippers, a school with four classrooms that can fit over 120 pupils, a student residence facility for those coming from far-flung communities, a health clinic, and a hand-dug well.

During the five-day trip, several different kinds of aid packages were delivered to different towns and cities. These included clothing for needy families, sewing machines for productive households, and even medical aid for the visually impaired. A number of finished wells and mosques were also visited to determine how well they were being maintained.

In the future, Sharjah Charity's projects in Uganda will focus on infrastructure development."
