Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation has brought smiles to the faces of 861 orphans in Sharjah city, the Central Region, and the Eastern Region with their "Eid Sweets" project. As part of the project, 303 boxes of delectable treats were distributed, coinciding with the joyous occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
The "Eid Sweets" initiative holds deep significance in the community, as it instills happiness and excitement in the hearts of orphaned families in anticipation of the upcoming festivities. It has become a cherished tradition, symbolising the warm embrace of Eid celebrations.
Nawal Al Hamadi, the Director of the Social Prosperity Department, expressed, "Our primary objective was to share the joy of Eid with orphaned families, extending our support by offering them delightful sweets. We reached out to families facing specific psychological or social challenges, recognising their unique needs and strengthening the bond between us."
The Foundation continues to welcome both financial contributions and in-kind donations from individuals, organisations, and institutions who are eager to contribute to the "Eid Sweets" project. This collective effort aims to foster a broader sense of social solidarity and expand the circle of support for orphans and their families.
