April 10, 2023 / 6:06 PM
Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) organised numerous social programs for orphaned families affiliated with the foundation during the holy month of Ramadan. The programs were aimed at mothers and children of all age groups, with 199 orphans and 48 guardians benefiting from the social programs provided.

These programs helped them achieve better social adaptation in all aspects of their environment and equipped them with behavioral and social skills, as well as developing their capabilities and knowledge through well-designed activities and programs that were in the best interest of the orphans and their families.

As part of the "Support Groups" program, the Foundation arranged several sessions for mothers aimed at providing support and encouragement to mothers of orphans and empowering them with new methods to cope with various life situations and adapt to new lifestyles.

Additionally, a group of mothers and children participated in dialog sessions about the "People of Goodwill" program. This program aimed to establish the principles of compassion and harmony among orphans and their relatives, helping them become accustomed to maintaining family ties and strengthening social adaptation among relatives, thus boosting their self-confidence and reinforcing family ties.

The foundation took a group of orphans to visit the "Tuwa Mosque", an Islamic landmark opened by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The mosque represents an ongoing charity for their deceased fathers - may they rest in peace - through a project dedicated to them by the foundation. The project instills in them great humanitarian values and emphasizes the importance of continuing to do good deeds after the absence of their fathers.

The Foundation also organised a practical workshop for the orphans to prepare breakfast boxes and distribute them to fasting people, portraying a wonderful image of the noble humanitarian work that reflects the cohesion of the community and activates the value of giving in their hearts.

Sheikha Al Tunaiji, head of the Social Services Department at the foundation, stated: "During these blessed days of the holy month, we aimed to bring closer connections with our staff and enhance communication with them. We gathered for Iftar meals, and organised various social programs that preceded the breaking of the fast, reflecting the spirit of unity and faith in Ramadan. We provided workshops and dialogue sessions that demonstrated the essence of our work in caring for orphans and widows. We thank all the supporting entities of the Foundation who contributed to the "Zakki (Give Alms) Ramadan campaign and the rest of the campaign projects.”
