The Drug Prevention Forum was held at Al Zahia City Center from 1st to 10th of June, with the aim of enhancing community participation in addressing phone messages promoting drugs, and to inform community members of its dangers and ways to prevent it.
The closing day was attended by Brigadier General Ibrahim Al-Ajeel, Deputy Director General of Police Operations, Brigadier General Dr. Abdullah Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of the Law Respect Culture Office at the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant Colonel Majid Al-Assam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police, and a number of officers and specialists at the Ministry of Interior.
The forum included 280 interactive activities that attracted about 30,000 visitors. The number of beneficiaries of the campaign through media publication and community interaction reached about 5 million and 200 thousand people.
His Excellency Brigadier General Ahmed Al Serkal, Director General of the General Department of Police Operations, appreciated the unlimited efforts made by working teams in making this pioneering event a success, highlighting the joint cooperation between the police and the community in combating this phenomenon, pointing to the importance of deepening benefit from the lessons that were clarified during the campaign by experts and specialists.
