Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police organised an awareness workshop titled "Drug Prevention", which came as part of the Ministry of Interior’s campaign "Participate with us to prevent it" in cooperation with the Sharjah Police, with the participation of various police leaderships, agencies and institutions in the country.
The workshop also aims to enhance community participation in confronting drug-promoting messages. The campaign continues to organise awareness sessions and workshops until next Saturday, corresponding to June 10, at the City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah.

The session, which was moderated by First Lieutenant Rashid Khayal, hosted Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family Authority and member of the Sharjah Executive Council, Major Mane’a Al Naqbi, Director of the Awareness and Family Protection Branch, First Lieutenant Ghanima Issa, Director of the School Liaison Branch, Lieutenant Awadh Mohammed Al Amoudi, and First Sergeant Omar Rashid Al Hammadi, specialists at the Social Support Centre in Sharjah Police.

The workshop discussed a number of axes that flow into drug prevention methods, including the impact of addiction on the family and the consequent family problems such as divorce and family disintegration. The role of the family in containment and the importance of dealing with the person as a sick person and not an addict, in addition to the role of the family in preventing addiction, and the presence and continuous communication with children and listening to them, and sound social upbringing on religion and morals were also addressed at the session.
